We left Cheyenne and traveled west through Wyoming. The first part of the trip was boring--landscape was very flat and it was windy. Then we came to Boysen State Park in a beautiful canyon. We went through 3 short tunnels.
After we went through Cody we were in the mountains. The climbing and curves really ate up the gas! Heavy rains started all the way to Yellowstone. We still had another half hour to go to get to our campsite.
The campground is in Fishing Bridge (there is a bridge there, but fishing is not permitted. They use to allow it, but found out that the site was where many of the trout did their spawning and the fish population was going down very rapidly. So now, no fishing from the bridge!)
